Our Mission

The Red List refers to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species — the world’s most comprehensive system for assessing the conservation status of plants, animals, and other organisms.

It classifies species based on their risk of extinction using rigorous scientific criteria such as population size, rate of decline, geographic range, and threats. Species are placed into categories ranging from:

Least Concern (low risk)
Vulnerable
Endangered
Critically Endangered
Extinct in the Wild
Extinct

When a species is described as being “on the Red List,” it means experts have determined it faces a real and measurable risk of extinction — often due to habitat loss, climate change, poaching, pollution, or human expansion.

In essence, the Red List is a global warning system. It doesn’t just name endangered species — it highlights urgency, drives conservation action, and guides governments, scientists, and organizations in protecting biodiversity before it’s lost forever.

Brewing Coffee.

Restoring Habitats.

 Protecting What’s at Risk.

At Red List Coffee, we believe every cup can create change. Our mission is simple but urgent: to protect threatened ecosystems, support sustainability, and fund meaningful conservation work—starting with the very landscapes where our coffee is grown.

Inspired by the global conservation framework of the International Union for Conservation of Nature and its Red List of Threatened Species, our company exists to turn awareness into action. Coffee is one of the most widely consumed beverages in the world. We see that scale not as an industry advantage—but as an opportunity for impact.

Every purchase fuels restoration.

Why Coffee?

Coffee grows in some of the most biodiverse regions on Earth - tropical forests that are home to endangered wildlife, fragile ecosystems, and communities whose livelihoods depend on the land.

Yet many of these habitats are under threat from:

Deforestation

Unsustainable agriculture

Climate change

Habitat fragmentation

Loss of biodiversity

We believe coffee should regenerate ecosystems - not degrade them.

Red List Coffee partners with conservation organizations to protect endangered wildlife and restore habitats in coffee-growing regions around the world.
